Power2U,
I was simply stating the standards to which I adhere to. I was not touting anything.
I have my own focus and it's to be the best all around rock climber I can be. I made this decision when I decided to try my hands at face climbing a little over a year ago. Until then I rarely clipped bolts unless they were anchors on a crack.

You cannot change my direction, or what impresses me and you should not be offended by what impresses me. In the Flame Forum you posted something that basically says ratings should not be of concern in climbing. Yet you seem a bit offended that when I look at what you wrote of yourself and your achievements, I see a 5.10+ climber.

Maybe you need to reread my original post.

And by the way.......
Threads like this shouldn't be considered "stupid". Any thread that turns to 3 pages in a few hours is, in my opinion, pretty good.

I agree SCIN this is not a stupid thread and I appologize for calling it that earlier. Obviously I don' think it is stupid or I would not be spending the time I am commenting on it. I actually think this has been an enlightening exchange.

My post in the Flame section was simply intended as HUMOR :D

When I get the time I have more where that came from, for when I need a laugh to share with everyone.

damn, the powers that be took away one of my pleasure sources... what a tick!

Humor aside, this is a very good thread, which has amazingly avoided falling into the sport vs. trad crap (for the most part). I find it interesting to see what makes people tick. (Pun intended.) I think I most agree with Wes' way of thinking on this issue, but there is no right or wrong here. Just opinions.
