The imposter lady bugs were out in full force on Frenchburg Overhangs. So was the wasp that somehow snuck down (or up) my shirt and stung me right under my harness. Bitches and hoes, the lot of them.

Perfect name! Yes, those imposter lady bugs were in full force at Solar collector as well. I'm also certain they were the reason for my rope hanging..

LOL! That's a pretty good account, RRO! Aside from you portraying me as a racist. ;)

Sounds like you had a high-adventure day out there. WLOTB is the first offwidth Andy 'introduced' me to, when he got some new big gear. When he told me to stack my hands, I yelled down, "How in the heck do I move up if both of my hands are in the same space???"

Sometimes, I think climbing exists to keep me humble (and to keep those 10 lbs off me). Everytime I start getting pretty excited about my accomplishments (usually, those dangerous number chasing kinds of accomplishments), I get dealt a new hand and realize how much I suck in the big scheme of things.

First, I went from happy/fun trad lines out west to the 'serious' sport climbing of The Red...and then, to bouldering....to offwidths...to granite...to the dirty south in the summer. Each time, I try to make myself feel better by thinking that they are all good workouts...that I am enjoying nature....and all that shi-shi-fru-fru stuff.

But, there is a light at the end of the tunnel -- Booze tastes just as good at the end of a day of sends as it does on a day of flailing. :D

All routes kick my butt these days.

I thought I'd come back into it climbing at least 5.9-ish. HA!

Take a year off and get fat. Your climbing will suck after that and you'll want to take up golf. Ok, maybe it's not that bad.

then you aren't so disapointed. It's a learning experience instead.

Perfected that game plan, I did!
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

My last trip reminded me of this thread. I went to do Big money ,thinking I would bag it no problem. It was going pretty good in spite of the small hand jams and lack of feet. and then I knew I was coming off. FALLING!!!!! I was only above my second piece. Yup I think I got my butt kicked. It took a trip up it on TR to unlock that beast. Damn the moves at the roof are cool!
