Post by crackdogger »

Does anyone know of any decent mountain bike trails in or around the RRG area?

There are tons of old abandoned logging and oil roads in the area. Best best is to drive past the road for Solar Collector and parke just before the main road crosses the creek. Then bike out the right fork, bearing right. You can actually do a nice loop which involves old roads, a dry creekbed and some creativity.

PM me for more details. I can send you a map image of the loop.

The KY State Parks Dept. has recently that mountain bikes should not be permitted on State Park land. This would constitute use of said land and could potentially bring tourist dollars to the already saturated Eastern KY economy.
Ticking is gym climbing outdoors.

The state park department is geared toward wealthy, older people who want to enjoy nature from behind the safety of a fence or rail. They're almost like some sort of statewide country club.

the rrgcc has started developing mtn bike trails on the pmrp land. right now there is not much to ride but mountain bikers have 700 acres of land to help develop and trails have been started. the loop chris talked about is fun and worth riding. if your interested in helping with the mtn bike development let myself or charlie know on this board and check back for trail day updates.
