I also recommend the wobble board. My favorite, though, is the bosu ball. You can with ball side up and barefoot step up onto ball from about two feet away in each direction. Then, turn it over and balance and do squats. The bands are also a good strengthening exercise. My ankle sucks forever and is very susceptible to reinjury. I now wear boots and that has helped the sprains from being so severe, i.e. the ankle bone doesn't twist all the way to the ground. But, it still twists in the boots. So, a good pt kinda brace is a good idea if you continue to reinjure.
