Slovenia

Post by Steve »

Anyone around here been to Slovenia? Jill and I are thinking about a ski trip there in January. Details, stories, and recomendations would be much appreciated.
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.

Oh there's skiing in Kentucky, after a big snow. Unfortunatly that doesn't happen very often due to that whole global warming thing, or the fact that Kentucky doesn't have the elevation or lattitude. So alas we must travel Slovenia to ski. Sigh.

Wouldn't it be hard to ski here with all the trees and rednecks? You'd hit one and fall down.

For that matter, how do people ski in other places?

Dodging rednecks is half the fun.

Just think of them as slalom gates.

Steve did you really need to post this? Slovenia is like the super secret crag of Europe. So quit giving it pub or we will be sharing a lift with a buckeye.

My ex (one more reason he's my ex) traded his good winter coat for snow skis one winter.

Said I: You can't ski!

Said he: Matters not! I am proficient in all sports (which he was) and ski I shall!

Next night, sure enough, off he skied down the longest hill on my grandparents' farm. I can still hear the screams, the cracking of tree limbs, human limbs, and the ice on the river at the bottom of the hill!

Ah, yes! I had me a smart one there!
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

Too late Jill, once it's on the internet, all the buckeyes know about it. They are already there or have their flights booked. By the time you get there all that will be left are candy wrappers and cigarette butts.
