From the gate where the road is closed to the Pebble Beach trail head is about 1.1 miles. Forest Service Road 9 is a gentle flat crushed gravel road, it wouldn't take long to hike to the Pebble Beach trailhead.
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.

it takes around 20 min. to get to the pebble beach from the gate. its not bad at all. it a good warm up for the day.
I don't have haters, I have fans in denial.

Thanks guys for all the beta! The hike is not too bad at all... The crack was cold but totally dry... And... I SENT it!!! Yippee!!! 4 tries. I fell from the crack switch on my first try... would have been proud to flash it...

Reading the latest Climbing I noticed that Peewee made the second ascent of Fiddler on a Roof since Petro's first ascent 19 years ago. Nice work dude! 5.13d 12 foot roof crack with a lunge to the lip from manky fingerlocks.
