Hunger pains what to eat?
Your weight is to some extent going to settle out at a norm for your body regardless of what you think you should weigh. Forget about the weight, eat whole foods in all of the basic food groups, avoid processed sugars and flours, saturated fats, anything hydrogenated, and foods with proteins minerals or vitamins added. And for Gods sake if the restaurant you want to get lunch from has a drive thru DON'T STOP!!! I agree with eating six smaller meals daily, our bodies are designed to have a constant supply of nutrients not 3 squares a day. Also, forget about counting calories, junk calories are junk calories and if your eating right your better of counting grams of proteins, carbs (include fruits as simple carbs) and fats (mono and poly unsaturated). Have a protein shake, cliff bar or balance bar for a snack. Eat an many veggies as you want when ever you want, and follow a balanced diet strictly for 6 days out of the week then allow yourself to eat whatever you want 1 day a week (that doesn't mean store up 7days worth of shit to snack on either). Exercise daily, fluctuating between cross training, cardio (3times weekly at 80%MHR) and strength training. Get a good program, be dedicated and in 8-12 weeks you'll be a new person.

The problem with Low Calorie Diets is that your body will easily go into 'starvation mode' and not loose any weight. At 180lbs, you need (I am estimating) at least 2500 calories to just maintain your weight for an active person. To lose weight from that point, you would either up your exercise, or drop your calories. Preferrably the former.
Now, having eaten only 1800 calories for a period of time, you will screw with your metabolism and it takes a while for it to get back in sync. however, I would try uping your calorie intake (with healthy choices of veggies, whole grains and milk products (yogourt, cottage cheese, milk etc) and upping your exercise as well. I suspect you would find that would work very well. Also, it is harder for your system to digest veggies and other fibres, thus burning more calories just doing its thing.
There are 3500 calories in a pound of weight... so basically you need to burn an extra 500 calories a day to lose a pound a week.

Some ballerinas eat cotton balls dipped in ranch dressing. The ranch dressing makes it tolerable, and the cotton balls make you feel full.

Eat some spirulina.....it tastes like shit, but it works.....and it is good for you...I think you need 6 grams or so. Also, you could try this S. American fruit called an acai berry. It also curbs appetite. This does not taste as bad. I sold supplements for a long time, so I actually know what I am talking about for once. The bottom line, however, is that you need to expend more energy (burn more calories) than you are consuming. It seems to me that if you weigh 180 lbs, and you are only consuming 1800 calories, that you should be losing weight. Try keeping a food journal and then counting the calories.... a lot of people underestimate their caloric intake unwittingly.
Most supplements are BS and have no valid scientific data to confirm their marketed effects.

Calorie counting is deceptive depending on what your eating, a gram of nutrients is a gram of nutrients, a calories is nothing more than a quantified chemical measure of energy, it could be a good Calorie or a sh*t calories, its still counted as a calorie.
Your body has a set point and trying to alter it is similar to trying to put a freight train in a volkswagon, It ain't gonna happen, not for more than a few days anyhow.
Focus on proper diet, broken into several meals daily and sufficient exercise in muliple facets. You'll be healthy, have more energy, and live longer without complications.
If you need a diet to get you started the South Beach and the Body for Life diets are the two best I've seen in years.

That worked for me at your age too. Now it's a constant battle which I lose more often than I win. I find now that if I back off a month, I lose about four months of hard work. Just the fact of my make up. I think I'm back on track, but it's certainly not as easy as it used to be.
