i second the use of almonds as an appetite suppresant. they're high in natural mono unsaturated fats and protein meaning they'll fill you up and still help muscle growth without increasing body fat. I buy the unroasted and unsalted variety to keep sodium levels in check, but you can find roasted unsalted as the raw flavor is unappealing to some, although i personally enjoy it more. 24 almonds a day keeps me from snacking on crap between meals. oh, and six small meals would works better at regulating my hunger than three large traditional meals did.

I start off the morning with a dozen glazed donuts (jelly on tues. and thurs.) and a pot of coffee, purge, next comes a mid morning snack consisting of a 1/2 pound of bacon, 4 eggs, toast with butter, wash it all down with a tall glass of whole milk. purge, For lunch its 2 Mcdonald's double cheeseburgers, large fries, and a mega coke. A couple of cherry pies tops off for the desert. purge, Since I worry about getting all fat I stick to a simple salad to start off dinner (pour the bacon grease on the salad for dressing yummy) and a large pizza, purge.

He's just amazed that someone can count to 24. He still has difficulty with 15.

Sorry to actually get back on the subject but there is an interesting daily calorie calculator on the Training For Climbing website: http://www.trainingforclimbing.com/html ... rces.shtml. As I have pointed out before, Horst recommends consuming protein just before a workout and then following up with carbs after to restore glycogen. Protein shakes are OK but an amino acid supplement is best before working out. I have used Protivity (http://strachan.rbclifesciences.com/Pro ... ?ItemID=40) from my product line before a power workout and and Ultrafuel from Twinlabs after.
