Why
Why
not that its a problem but when i open the online guide sometimes it opens a new window and sometimes it opens in a window i already have open and kicks out email or whatever else was open in that window. just curious.

I've always used target="_blank", and have never heard of using "new" instead, but here's someone's summary of the difference:View Source wrote:<a href="http://www.redriverclimbing.com/RRCGuideV2/" target="new" class="mainmenu"><img src="templates/subTrail/images/icon_mini_info.gif" width="13" height="13" border="0" hspace="3" alt="Online Guidebook" />Online Guidebook</a>
The first one (target="new") causes links to be opened in a window named "new". If there currently is no open window named "new", the window is created. Subsequently clicking on links with target="new" causes them to be opened in that window.
The second one (target="_blank") cause links to always be opened in a new window. Note that this is not the same as opening links in a window named "new".

Micro$oft's take on your issue: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=272415
So, if all you have open is the one window and you click on the Online Guidebook link, you should get a new window. If you've got other stuff open, it'll use the other open window as the "new" window. I don't think this happens in Firefox. We could go through and change all the "new"s to be "_blank"s, to prevent this behavior, but I'll wait on Ray's opinion on what to do here...Hyperlinks that use the TARGET=_BLANK attribute always open a new Internet Explorer window, while hyperlinks that use the TARGET=NEW attribute open a new Internet Explorer window only once.

think of it as naming a container. when you click on a link with target="_blank" it knows to always open a new window for that link. when you click on a link with target="new" it opens a new window and names it "new."
now, if you go and change that "new" window to check your webmail and then click on another link that says target="new," it'll go, "oh, 'new' is already open so i'll just change it to display this page."

huh. i thought the only functional "special" values were _blank, _self, _top, _parent, and _searchYasmeen wrote:Micro$oft's take on your issue: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=272415

Yeah, it was weird to see that in the code for me, too. But I guess it explains the seemingly unpredictable behavior.neuroshock wrote:huh. i thought the only functional "special" values were _blank, _self, _top, _parent, and _search

i'm pretty sure it has something to do with the fact that you suck copious amounts of cock in your spare time and while cooking breakfast food at RRO. fag. anyway, i put together a little animation with the following emoticons of what your face looks like while taking big black dick in the ass.
Yo HO!! Just got me a code red and some funyons big dawg!!! SHIT YEAH! - Ray, excited about his breakfast
