Anyone interested in history of Cumberland Climbers?

Post by rstokley »

I'm not sure how to go about this; anyone interested in history of the Cumberland Climbers? I was pretty much around from the begining.

But, of course!
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

Sure, post or put up a word document.

Many of us around here are always interested in a story from 'back in the day' so feel free to post a good yarn whenever you get a chance.
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.

Yes, very interested. Did the Cumberland Climbers ever climb down in Cumberland Gap Park? I know rock climbing is not allowed there now, but many years back I was down at the Pinnacle Overlook area and there is maybe a 35 ft free standing pinnacle that has many rusty pins and some tattered webbing at the top. Just curious about the history of this if you happen to know.
