What are you listening to?
The people that work there (MacTown) are so cool it makes me want to huck my pc out of a window and buy a mac. Well, the percussions are effective for a minute, it gets the hard drive going again, but then it just stops again a few seconds later..... this will be my third iPod in about four years. I have no luck with them whatsoever.
Still rolling with my original precious, 2nd gen 40gb. Battery only lasts a few hours now but you can get a replacement for like $30 at Compusa. Has served me very well over the last 3 years.
I've managed to grab a bunch of awesome torrentz the last couple weeks, haven't listened to all of it but so far the Jimi is kickin new stuff I haven't heard before and I'm almost done with the Dylan....

OK, so I have tried really hard to listen to something other than Panic since I caught a couple of amazing shows recently. Classic Talking Heads from the 70's, STS9 from last year, Mule, Kimock, just can't force myself to pull it off.
So, in addition to the obscene amount of Panic I already have I've been pulling down the Everyday Companion podcast. A real pleasure for all of us Spreadnecks out there......

tom petty at rro can really save a day.
Well I started out down a dirty road
Started out all alone
And the sun went down as I crossed the hill
The town lit up the world got still
I'm learning to fly but I ain't got wings
Comin' down is the hardest thing
Well the good old days may not return
And the rocks might melt, and the sea may burn
I'm learning to fly but I ain't got wings
Comin' down is the hardest thing
Well some say life will beat you down
Break your heart, steal your crown
So I started out for God knows where
But I guess I'll know when I get there
Im learning to fly around the clouds
But what goes up must come down
I'm learning to fly but I ain't got wings
Comin' down is the hardest thing
Im learning to fly around the clouds
But what goes up must come down
I'm learning to fly
I'm learning to fly
Well I started out down a dirty road

just got it last week like it alot! sounds almost like the old stuff. anybody listening to neil young's "Living With War?"squeezindlemmon wrote:Tom Petty's Highway Companion is very addicting. Reminds me of Bob Dylan (and a little bit of Thorogood for the first song). Very rare to find a CD where I like every single track.
A little contrast to Tom Petty and Panic:
I've got three tracks from Goldfrapp (Number 1, Ooh La La, and Slide In) that I'll play through pretty often. It's kinda cheezy neuveau disco and the lyrics can be somewhat creepy, but between the amazing production and Allison Goldfrapp's voice, it's an amazing 10 minutes of music - esp. on headphones.
From the non-creepy lyrics on "Number 1":
Walk out into velvet
Nothing more to say
You're my favorite moment
You're my Saturday
Here's the crazy dog-headed, plastic surgery mocking video:

Bacon is meat candy.
wilco - jesus etc.
Jesus, don't cry
You can rely on me, honey
You can combine anything you want
I'll be around
You were right about the stars
Each one is a setting sun
Tall buildings shake
Voices escape singing sad sad songs
tuned to chords
Strung down your cheeks
Bitter melodies turning your orbit around
Don't cry
You can rely on me honey
You can come by any time you want
I'll be around
You were right about the stars
Each one is a setting sun
Tall buildings shake
Voices escape singing sad sad songs
tuned to chords
Strung down your cheeks
Bitter melodies turning your orbit around
Voices whine
Skyscrapers are scraping together
Your voice is smoking
Last cigarettes are all you can get
Turning your orbit around
Jesus, don't cry
You can rely on me, honey
You can combine anything you want
I'll be around
