Some of us won't be able to make it down before school starts. Is there an address where we can ship/mail stuff to?

thanks so much for supporting this effort! i talked w/ the principal at rogers elem. and she's so excited to have our help! they need basic school supplies and are also trying to raise $400 for some special software/interactive teaching stuff that sounds really neat - something called an "AIR LINER" to go with a "SMART Board" - here's her explanation of those items (below). Wouldn't it be cool to get that for them? Talk about creating a positive image in the community. So, as you can see, all donations are greatly appreciated -school supplies, cash towards school supplies, cash towards the "air liner", etc. -- thanks everyone -- and the need for supplies doesn't end when school starts - so we can keep this up for several weeks!!

Here is some information about SMART Boardâ„¢ Interactive Whiteboards
The SMART Board interactive whiteboard is a large, touch-sensitive display. Connected to a computer and projector, the interactive whiteboard is like a giant computer screen that students and teachers simply touch to operate. Using their finger or a pen as a mouse, teachers and students can access and control any computer application, file or multimedia platform, including the Internet, CD-ROMs and DVDs. They can also write over applications in digital ink, then save their work for future study and review. The SMART Board interactive whiteboard engages students with diverse learning styles by providing both immediate access to a wide range of digital materials and a common focus for the entire class - not something easily achieved with other classroom technology products. It is the number one choice among primary and secondary school educators in more than 75 countries worldwide because it captures the imagination of students of all backgrounds and abilities in order to help them learn together, understand better and achieve more.

You can see a Smart Board here. http://www.smarterkids.org/k12/smartpro ... ose_sb.asp

This web page shows the Air Liner that goes with the Smart Board. http://www.smarterkids.org/k12/smartpro ... rliner.asp

I hope I did not overwhelm you with ideas, but our school always has a WISH LIST, and we get excited about new things to use with our students. (especially things that allow us to use technology in the classroom)

Some of the primary teachers have those at the school I work for, and they love them! I def. think the smartboard is a valuable tool for the classroom. Our kids are blind and visually impaired and it is still very useful.

I've access to one of those, I have yet to put in the time to think of a good lesson where it is useful.
