grigri question

Those are good points. My rope is new and needs it's first wash. And I was probably used to my old "broken in" grigri. I do like the new colors though : )

Our old grigri that was worn by that barge hauler I mentioned earlier...has a hard time lockin up my newer 10.1 rope. You can see the grooved out parts the rope goes thru....guess we might want to invest in a new one.

Anyone see those new ATC XP Guides? what you think about that?

Love my ATC Guide for belaying the second from the anchors on multipitch. It's more like a Reverso than a Gri-Gri, though. You don't get autolock mode when belaying the leader like you do with the Gri-Gri. But it sure is sweet for multipitch trad. High friction mode is more friction than the regular ATC but less than the ATC-XP.
