How great! I sat down the other night and viewed them all! I wish I had been there, but my Spirit was with you! Soooooooo happy for you!
Namaste!

This is a documentation of our trip to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon over Memorial Day weekend. We left late Saturday night, toting a family of four and our two dogs with us...we got back Monday evening...very very dusty. The Road to the North Rim, or the road we took...is all gravel and dirt...90 miles of. We got three flat tires and were rescued by Mormons on their way to a large mormon family reunion up on this mountain top retreat....so that's the set up, here are the pictures.
This was our first campsite, the Broke Down Camp Ground, which was right on the side of the road where we got our second flat....we decided to change out the spare in the morning and just camp for the night...this picture was taken in the morning....
(all of these were taken on a disposable camera so quality is low)
We went to change the spare and lo and behold,it was flat too....we were literally miles from nowhere and this is when cell phones are better used as a doorstopper.
The truck tailgate says North Rim Or Bust.....this was just after we were rescued by Mormons, drove back to St George, got 4 new tires (thanks walmart) pulled a guy out of ditch (Joe's always good for that) and stopped to see a neat old one room schoolhouse...we headed on to our destination, it was late Sunday afternoon at this point and we were determined to get there. Notice my used to be white dogs now resemble toasted marshmallows...
But we made it, here is the north rim...dangerous and scarey with no gaurd rail...but cool nonetheless...and much less crowded than the south rim even on a holiday
It was a really neat trip and we had a good time, we took some friends of ours and their two teenage sons. If you are out here, I would say take the back way to the Grand Canyon, just make sure you have lots of spare tires.
And here are two pics of the dogs...eatin burritos and Boo just chillin in the weeds...
