hanging tree belay

hanging tree belay

Anyone ever belayed from such a place? I kept traversing over and couldn't find a way to the top so I set up a hanging belay 50 feet up in a beech tree. It was cool.

If you wanted to get up in a tree wouldn't it have been easier to just climb it instead of the rock?
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.

I thought I had used a tree for a belay. But I guess I have never Really used the tree. That picture is funny. Not what I expected.
