Pistol Ridge

Post by p0bray01 »

So my girlfriend and I were going to go to Pistol Ridge for the first time....we started up the trail across from the pulloff like the guidebook said and the trail disapeared (overgrown?) about a quarter of a mile up. Is it just overgrown....do we need to bushwack or what? Also it looked like there might have been another trail that headed off to the right...anybody have any idea how to find the crag? Or was I even in the right place?

Thanks!

We made a similar mistake the other weekend. Here's the beta. Park after you cross the bridge. Walk down the street (if you've just walked across the bridge, turn right) less than 100 yards, and you'll see the real trail head.

We made a mini-carem (sp?) out by the trail head in hopes that climbers might take notice, but the FS jakes wouldn't. Props to Yasmeen, the architect. Or as the mexicans (since Yasmeen is mexican) say, la arquitecta.

yeah there were no Cairns of any kind near that trail we started up! Thanks again! You don't just give mexicans a good name but climbers as well.

LOL, thanks guys. It's nice to try on a new nationality every now and again. Hope you guys find it, the real trail is definitely better than the fake one.
