UTAH!

Post by Rags »

I'm headed off for a spontaneous trip to Utah next week--anybody have any suggestions for things that are considered "can't miss"?

I'm carrying a healing shoulder so suggestions shouldn't be the hardest wall in the state! How are the ratings compared to RRG?

I really enjoyed Little Cotton Wood Canyon.

I think that I will be in the Southeast part around St. George, Zion, and Bryce Canyon...

decent bouldering at the Globe, its right at the entrance to Zion heading in from Springdale across the street from the Imax theatre- north side of road- plenty of climbing around St. George I was assured but have no experience- don't waste much time at Bryce although it is neat as hell there is no climbing

chuckwalla wall - its a great little sport cliff with a variety of grades and I think good for a healing shoulder. Also it gets early shade(until about 2pm) which will be important this time of the year.

For some basalt climbing near a pool check out crawdad canyon, its an outdoor climbing gym kinda thing but cool....in a way. Moderates there also.

You'll be a few hours from Vegas/Red Rocks/Mt. Charleston - might be worth the drive...

Well! I'm jealous, but sooooooo happy for you! :D
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.
