FYI, Frank and Mandy gave more than money. That $500 was for the Frankenjura Fundraiser they auctioned off. Someone is staying with them for two weeks and they're guideing them at an amazing climbing area. *Very* generous of Frank and Mandy and a helluva good deal for the winner!

Given the post on the RRGCC site stating that the Access Fund donated $2500 and my knowledge that Frank and Mandy sent in $500 to the RRGCC, I went ahead and updated the amount on the front page to over $27,000! Thanks to everyone who donated or helped in any other way to help us reach our goal!

All together:

Yay, Michelle! Yay, climbers!
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

Again, thanks to everyone who contributed either directly with a monetary donation and/or with volunteer hours logged towards any aspect of fundraising. Thanks especially to Artsay & the RRC.com team for all of their fundraising efforts both on this site and in other fundraising efforts such as SCIN & Artsay opening their private home gym to others. It is ALL truly appreciated.

For a recap, when this thread was started on December 11, 2005 the RRGCC had collected about $3,000 towards the 2006 PMRP payment due June 15, 2006. Thus in some five months since then the Red River Gorge climbing community + the Access Fund grant has contributed/raised an additional $27,000 for a total amount of $30,000 (The actual payment is about $29,400 but $30,000 was a good round number). In any case this has been an AWESOME effort. As far as keeping the momentum going, we have the Red River Rendezvous fundraising event coming up Memorial Day weekend so make your plans to attend now!

And to the 32% of you who said you wouldn't give 75 bucks a year to keep the southern region open up your nose with the rubber hose.

With a $2,500 Access Fund grant now in hand, plus the $27,489.72 having been raised by the climbing community since December 12, 2005, the RRGCC has a grand total of $29,989.72 in the bank, ensuring our ability to make the PMRP 2006 mortgage payment of $29,393.00 due June 15, 2006. Our thanks and gratitude go out to the Access Fund (http://www.accessfund.org), to the climbing community at-large, and especially to Ray & Michelle Ellington for the fundraising effort that they mounted through this website.

To kick-off the fundraising efforts for the 2007 PMRP mortgage payment, RRGCC President, Dr. Bob Matheny, has offered a dollar-for-dollar matching challenge up to $5,000 for any PMRP contributions received by the RRGCC until June 15, 2006. This match will include money raised at the upcoming RRGCC 2006 Red River Rendezvous (See: http://www.rrgcc.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=346) except for the event registration fees. That means any raffle ticket sales in addition to the registration, money raised from clinics, and money raised from gear sales @ Miguel's will be included in this matching challenge. The goal in this challenge is to have at least $10,000, including the challenge money, set aside by June 15, 2006 for the 2007 PMRP mortgage payment!
