Thank you so much, you two! Your tireless efforts have added so many fantastic options on where to climb at the Red. You should be very, very proud.

Also, congratulations on finding each other-- I know you'll continue to love and appreciate each other for the rest of your lives.

J & K -

I've never met you guys, but I really enjoy climbing on your routes! A lot of the ones I've seen down there truly are artistic in their form, sometimes a lot more aesthetic than other ones I've climbed around the Red.

Jared, it was a real pleasure to finally get to meet you and climb with you last week. I wish I'd met you years ago! Your motivation and enthusiasm is contagious. It's obvious that same energy has gone into your route development at Muir. I sure hope we can climb some more down the road.

If I'm doing the searches and math right, more than 15% of all the routes in the online guidebook are in Muir. There are about 1500+ routes at the Red. In my lifetime I will only climb a small fraction of those, but a lot more than 15% of those are at Muir. Many (most?) of those routes I owe to K and J's hard work! How about "Acrophobiacs Anonymous" - the anitesis of an 'ego-driven developer route' and the perfect spot to help a friend get comfortable leading! Routes like those are a great contribution to the future of climbing that so many other developers didn't want to or couldn't be bothered to put up. Muir Valley is a big part of why it's worth driving 8 hours each way from Chicago to climb for a weekend at the Red.
