I'm gonna sue you! You're not "safe"!busty wrote:I don't think it really matters whether someone has said MV or PMRP or anywhere else is safe or their efforts to try to limit risk is going to encourage litigation----although saying something is "safe" could present problems in a suit (but that does not appear to have happened for the routes in the Red). If someone is already inclined to file suit, its going to happen. Everyone is ready to file a lawsuit. That's why there are so many commercials and ads for personal injury lawyers.

I second that motion.. I've never, ever expected, nor particularly desired the access oriented coalitions to get involved in risk management training or teaching climbing. Let the specialities lie where they are best organized already.the lurkist wrote:And another thing, Rick. Let's not make this an us against them thing.Has the RRGCC done much of anything to instruct, mentor, and teach risk management to new climbers?
I'd suggest of any "member of the community" that climbing gyms, (promoting climbing for profit!), are the organizations that should bear responsibility for informing new climbers how different and dangerous outdoor rockclimbing is when compared to the carpeted cushioned living room experience that one gets at the gym.

you obviously have never taken a victory whipper, and hence do not understand the importance of the term. repeat after me,..."a victory whipper can only be taken after a send".....
you are too beholden to your "rules" abour sending. next you'll posit that we can't grab draws and count it as a send...
