Partial Reopening of Muir Valley
Hey Hoyne, for a few moments I actually thought that I was going to become a permanent part of the rock. I should have been smarter and climbed it to the outside of the squeeze chimney like you did when you led it, but I was really curious to see if I could fit through it or not.

Thanks to all for your hard work. You guys are awesome, especially the Webers. We have such a beautiful place to climb, along with some very caring caretakers.
I do wish the Rising could be rebolted. I'd pay for the glue in's if needed.

As more routes are inspected and re-opened, it is becoming clear that they are in very good shape overall -- especially compared to other climbing areas in the Red. Just two loose hangers found in hundreds inspected, and they weren't even close to pulling out.
Open routes are marked with green or yellow ribbons on the lower hangers.
The Sanctuary is still mostly closed, as these high-difficulty routes are taking more time to inspect. Last fall, we closed several Sanctuary routes to replace some of the steep angle mechanical bolts with glue-ins. This work is continuing. Jesus Wept and Prometheus Unbound are both open. Do not climb Triple Sec (aka 50 Bucks) as it has had some of the mechanical bolts removed in preparation for glue-in installations.
Great work, developers and inspectors!
