uploading pics to this site

I just need to know why I can't upload any pic to this site. I just got a new scanner and every time I try to upload to the Album it tells me that my file is too large or corrupted. I've been keeping the size at 949 pixel, and....well....I just don't know what Im doing wrong. HELP!

Maximum file size (bytes) 400000

Maximum image width (pixel) 1000

Maximum image height (pixel) 1000

ray, I have tons of cool pictures that I want to upload but they are all just barely to big. They are about 600 Kb. I am not sure how to make the pictures smaller. Everytime I try to make them smaller in another program they end up being a way larger file. Please help me. I am retarded.

Are you saving them as .jpg files? That is usually about the best way to compress a picture, plus you can vary the quality of the picture to help control the size.
