I stated clearly that Terry didn't cause the closure; Climbers' selfishness and ignorance caused it. But he absolutely fueled Mark's decision.Meadows wrote:I am well aware what Terry said to Mark, but still, Mark makes his own decisions.

Does he have a strange bear claw like appendage protruding from his neck? He kep petting it.
I just added the Urban Dictionary to my favorites. They have Cleveland Steamer and Pittsburgh Platter in there. Anything that has those two words in it has to be good! My guess is I will also find New Jersey Meat Hook, Dirty Sanchez, et al.

...quitting drinking is kinda like washing your hands after you take a crap...why start now?
I guess some people just won't be happy until every climbing area that "competes" (at least in their mind) with the PMRP is closed.
Sarcasm is a tool the weak use to avoid confrontation. People with any balls just outright lie.

Artsay, I'm not disagreeing with you, except on this one point. There is definitely something to work out. For some reason I can't even imagine (unless it really is all about egos), there is open animosity between two factions of our climbing community. I have heard everything from criticism to accusations and outright character assasinations from both sides about the other. I respect and admire people in both of these 'camps' a great deal and for many reasons. I simply do not understand why there is this competition or whatever it is. If this could be worked out and folks could treat each other with respect then this kind of situation won't happen again.Artsay wrote:There's nothing to work out.
I have personally put aside past transgressions for the greater good of our climbing community, and I find it liberating and satisfying. I would like to suggest that these two camps (you know who you all are) sit down and talk, face to face, air greivances, or whatever, and not walk away until you have agreed to lay down the past and move forward. Please?
why do we all have to agree? or respect? or sit together and break bread?
we (meaning climbers) like to think we are "different" than the real world, but it ain't so.
it'd sure be nice, but i think most of us know that differences are just that. the biggest break through would be for grievances to be aired privately, even if no consensus is reached.
this isn't summer church camp.
