yes, but not by most of us who have posted in this thread, and not on this forum. I'd really like to see the involved parties work out their issues with each other and come to some kind of understanding that will allow them to forget about the conflict and show each other some respect. Maybe I'm a pollyanna, though.

There's nothing to work out. Terry just needs a reality check because his actions are affecting...in a bad, bad way...many wonderful people and climbing in the Red. This isn't about right or wrong. It's about respect and social ettiquete. The last time I spoke to Terry he said, in a *kind* way, that I am naive and immature. And this was a GOOD conversation on FRIENDLY terms! I have no desire to talk in circles with Terry and those who know him no why. It's impossible to talk to him. I like the guy but he's got diarrhea of the mouth and needs to realize his words affect people. I can count off on almost two hands folks...GOOD people...who have incurred his wrath and have been deeply hurt by his words. But it's when his words started affecting climbing that I can't sit back anymore.

Muir has obvious hardware problems and Torrent has climbing courtesy problems...Terry didn't cause this. Terry has been instrumental in making great things happen in the Red. But Terry's mouth fueled Torrent's potential closure status and Muir's temporary closure. I mean...what the fuck?!?!?!

He fueled it? I like to believe that Mark is adult enough to make decisions independent of Terry. Why isn't Sandy included with this statement; afterall, she started a thread with the same idea (and what a good one it was, although maybe improbable).

What Rick is doing is good for the safety and concern that has arisen on his property. Kudos to him for taking the action.

I'm not denying Terry has a case of logorrhea that might be destructive, but I think Mark as far as I know is a sane person capable of making his own decisions. He has dealt with quite a bit from climbers.

Terry told me himself he told Mark to close Torrent. Bragged about it, actually. Terry could've chosen to be a liason between Mark and the climbing community but instead he choose to fuel the situation. It was his choice.

Terry has been banned from Muir for his verbal affects.

I'm not one to base my opinion off rumors. I don't pass rumored information freely. As I said to someone recently, "I'm like this well that everyone comes to piss and shit information in and I'm overflowing with anti-Terry excrement".

I am well aware what Terry said to Mark, but still, Mark makes his own decisions. I hope with the threat of closure, climbers will recognize their actions and change.
