No Dogs in the Gorge. Period.

Movies, music, food, blood, dogs, Horatio.....

Should the climbing community encourage a "no dogs allowed" policy?

Yes. Cliffs are for people to climb, not for dogs to socialize.

Yes. Dogs are a real distraction and people do not monitor their pets enough.

Yes. Except for a few "dog friendly" cliffs where owners and pets could go away from the crowds.

Maybe. If the pet owners don't get a clue and keep their dogs quiet and off my rope.

Pepper Spray

Post by drytool »

Let's pepper spray the climbers at Torrent that are urinating in the parking lot, cussing on the routes and not making donations! As has been stated several times on this thread already "be a responsible and curtious climber!" This means controlling you pet or leaving it at home if it is not socialized enough to be at the crag.

You wouldn't spray the child, so why is it ok to spray the dog if its just being a pest? Obviously, if you spray the child, its a crime. But just because you can probably get awa with spraying a dog doesn't mean you should pepper spray an animal and punish it for the failings of its owner.
Right. So spray the owner instead. Listen, I've got a half a can of pepper spray and I need to spray something. Somebody help me here.
I've had just about enough of this shit.

so my dog stays in the back yard and home, and the meter reader leaves a note saying my dog is barking viscously, and to please restrain him the first week of every month so they can take my meter reading. is that fair?

one week a month River must be on a chain or in the house in his own back yard?

pigsteak,
very simple solution...most electric companies will allow you to read your own meter and put it in an envelope and tape it to your front door the day the meter is due to be read.

Now that my shoulder is trashed and I can't climb for a long time. I will start a buisness near Miguel's. All dogs are banned from all cliffs at the Red. So bring your doggie to rhunt's "crag doggie daycare" Fees and details to come soon!
