This is bothersome to me. I understand the sentiment, however, I don't think its wise for anyone to do this. If an animal is attacking/biting at the time it is put down, that's one thing. But if the bite/attack is not occurring at the time an animal is put down, killing a pet could qualify as a crime. It could also create a civil liability problem since a pet is personal property.

Gita mentioned that perhaps we could pass notices out at Miguel's. I know that we've discussed waste and potential litter problems, but it might be worth it if we keep the crag open.

Terry, I think a preemptive strike is fine and justifiable. Remember, in Eastern Kentucky, "he needed killin" is still a valid defense.

That's pretty sick. Just say, across the board, no dogs.

I think that the best way to solve this is to either close Torrent--which I would hate because it is my favorite crag at the Red --or charge a much higher fee for climbing there (like $10 a person). If you did this, the dirtbags who do not appreciate the access will go somewhere else. The people who value the access enough to pay a lot will abide by the posted rules.
