i was there for a couple of years, the winter ice craving was cool. but i like the summer mud bogging better. as you could image a lot of people up there have bad ass 4x4's in the summer they take them to the bogs just outside of town and try and get them stuck. it was cool and totally free to watch.
Cirque of the Unclimbables is on my hit list in the near future but the only way in is by helicopter or a hike from hell that very few will do. The fund has been started but yes the logistics suck to get to that part of the world.
The directions map quest would give me from my house across from campus to campus involved driving out to a highway then back, instead of crossing a road.

Those are some of the best photos I have ever seen of The Northern Lights. That is one of the reasons why I am heading up there. That's a wild green color.
Thanks, TradMike! I was pretty psyched when I saw how well those pics turned out. Seeing Aurora Borealis was the coolest thing I ever experienced. Those lights move so fast!
