Very Cool! Someone should be sure this article makes it to the Climbing Museum.

Is it just me or does anyone else thinks this thread should be on the climbing community page instead of whatever?

Nice. Front page! Great to see such positive writing, and big thanks to Rick, Liz, Bob, etc who make it possible to climb in areas that we wouldn't otherwise be able to.

I love to hear other people's take on stories like this one. I thought the the whole private land recreation issues was burried a little to far down in the article. Guess I was looking for the hard news off the top as opposed to a featurey stuff first. But what do I know? It was good pub for sure.
Anyone know how they came across Muir, the Webers, et al for the story?
I was working alone on our house mid week when Sarah Vos phoned me out of the blue and wanted to come down with a photographer. She wanted to talk about Muir and take pixs of some of the rock there, and of course it wouldn't look right without a climber attached thereto. So, I called Matt and Amy, who were probably the only climbers down there at this time of year mid week, and they were kind enough to grab their gear and come over to the Valley. We put Matt on a very cold wet (!), but photogenic, route at the Great Arch and the photog did the rest.

Thanks again to all for helping to make this a fun place to climb.

I liked it when Weber said that some ["setter uppers" are better than other "setter uppers"]! I hope we can find more good "route setters".
Well done Sarah!

Just to clarify --

1. Even though you put the term, "setter upper" in quotes, neither the article nor I used it. :)

2. I told Sarah Voss, the writer, that MV started out with first rate route developers. As they developed more and more classic routes, this attracted even more first-rate developers. This snowballing effect is what I believe Sarah meant to convey in her last two sentences.

Why wasn't Liz in on the photo love?

She wasn't there when the reporter visited.
