The end of climbkentucky.com

Post by deleted username »

Hi gang. Well, as my yearly lease on climbkentucky.com comes to a close at the end of May, I am going to let it go without renewal.

For those of you with fond memories of the old BBS, or those who have favorite threads with good beta, funny commentary, and words of wisdom that you wish to preserve, please take this next month to go there and copy and save all that stuff that you wish too. It is possible for me to save the entire database to file, but I don't know what good that might do anyone.

I am going to miss climbkentucky.com, but it's only good for nostalgia now and I hate paying $12 a month to keep an email address that I rarely use.

Ray, again, you are welcome to all the pictures on there... in fact someone should probably transfer many of them to this sites gallery. Thanks for your hard work on this site. Well done.

*sniff, sniff* Gone but not forgotten.
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.

Hey how much space would the database take up? Would it be possible for you to save it and make it available for download or something? I think it was a pretty good resource... I still surf it on occasion just to avoid starting a thread here that was already discussed there. Anyway, thanks for starting this whole thing JB! You rule! (Even more than Shaggy!)

The table was covered by a lovely chantilly lace cloth. The centerpiece consisted of babies' breath surrounding peach-tipped carnations. The Laughlin china, Revere silver, and Fostoria glassware complimented the bride's silver candlabra.

And a fun time was had by all

hey Ray, do you have room on your server to host the Climb Kentucky forum archive? What a shame it would be to lose all that.

At least that board is searchable.

Don't worry. History repeats itself. Especially in the small world of BBSs dedicated to climbing at the Red.

I have room but can't see having the time to set it up. I still have the new Dell sitting in my living room untouched due to not having time to set it up.

JB, no problema man. It's a lot of fun!
