Damn Capt did you have to go and invite him over here?? This is that same tool who hates dogs at the crags, among other things. He spews sporadic venom about various topics which apparently piss him off but doesn't offer any constructive alternatives. Otherwise known as a whiner.

Thanks for the info. Sorry for inviting him over here but I didn't want to get into a flame war on the RRGCC site. I though maybee we could have some fun jumping his rear here on the bbs  .

yeah, yeah! a fight, a fight! a black and a white. if the white don't win, we all jump in!

i don't understand why the coalition can't accept that people have different views than their own?

Horatio, it would be entirely different if this guy was offering an opinion - rather than just bitching. Did you read what he wrote? He doesn't state any specifics, just rants against the establishment(s). I think the RRGCC is well aware of the fact and expects people to have differing opinions. I'd like to think they are open to considering them, but I don't have any personal experience there - yet.

There is a problem there. Yes, Mike is being very much ineffective since he just offers complaints and no suggestions or alternatives. He has no better idea, just likes to criticize the ideas and works of others. That said, I must admit I always wince and feel a bit uneasy when I read anyone, even Shannon, go on and on about what the RRGCC believes, when I, as a member of the RRGCC and Climbers' Advisory Council don't necessarily agree 100% with everything she said in her reply (I only have problems with a couple sentances, so I'm 99% in agreement). Still, even if I did agree 100% with what she said, I have yet to read an official document stating that her speach is exactly what the RRGCC stands for. But then again, she IS the RRGCC, so I shant complain... what have I done for the coalition? :(

I ocassionaly do feel like a puppet. I wish I had Shannon's time and energy for involvement. I like to think of the CAC as congress to her president, with different views holding equal representation, but don't often feel that way.

Thats funny stuff over there at the ole RRGCC site. Finnaly a little heated discussion happens on that forum. I'll have to stay tuned and see how this thing pans out.
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.
