there are many well known nutritionists that will admit during their first four years of college they were taught you could get all you needed from plain and simple food... but, when they went on to get their doctorates they discovered this simply wasn't true... for a variety of reasons, the deliberate study of nutritients and the human body's use of nutrients and 'packaging' of the nutrients and then properly using these 'packages' of nutrients at the proper times to fuel the body (a long drawn out description of supplementation) is vital to peak performance...
muscle is worth it's weight in gold... everyone wants to strip fat and build muscle... one can lower body fat percentage without losing weight... the trick isn't to starve the body just to lose weight... this is the main pitfall of 'dieting'... to have a stronger leaner body you must feed the muscle and 'starve' the fat... it's what you choose to fuel your body with and when that leads to a body that can climb more difficulty rather than just having a starved waify body...
i recently had to drill a new hole in my favorite belt because it was beginning to hang to much.... and the neat thing is, i haven't lost a pound.... but, i'm alot stronger and my endurance is way up....
nutrition and performance
I think you are saying that to be lean and strong, exercise, not diet is the key. While that works well at your probable young age, in the long run, poor dieting takes its toll on the body. Fitness requires diet and exercise. Trust me on this one, I'm playing health catch-up now for a couple of trashy eating winters!
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

not necessarily.... to control overall weight, the equation calories in minus calories burnied leads to weight gain or weight loss.... but, the type of calories and nutrients will determine body composition.... i could lift twice a day, and eat 3000 calories a day of french fries... and i'm gonna gain weight... but i would be fat....Meadows wrote:So you're saying eat more protein? The point of your message was lost somewhere ...
it is important to eat every 2 to 2.5 hours.... with breakfast being the most important.... not eating breakfast is counterproductive.... some people don't eat breakfast because they think they will lose weight etc... best breakfast profile is 40% protein 40% carbs and 20% fats.... if you want your total daily intake of fat to be 10%, obviously you will eat less fats as a percentage of calories as the day progresses....
do ya'll fuel your body every 2 hours....

i'm trying to say the opposite.... what you fuel your body with has an even bigger impact than the excercise.... i see many people work their buts off, but don't get any results.... it's in the nutrition.... haha... i'm probably older than most on here.... when i was younger, and an athlete i never paid attention to nutrition.... i stayed in decent shape because i was always working out.... but, what shape i could have been in if i fueled my body properly.... over the last 5 years i have been a student of nutrition.... i wouldn't have the strength or endurance capapcity i do now without supplements and making good food choices on a daily basis....dipsi wrote:I think you are saying that to be lean and strong, exercise, not diet is the key. haha... i'm just a messenger... you can use any products you want... and i'm sure you consume plenty throughout each day...dhoyne wrote:Let me guess, we should all buy the products you sell.
you'd be surprised how many people make a purchasing decision based on mindless repetitive messages in tv commercials, or some catchy deceptive display on a shelf in walmart or convienence store, etc...
if you did use advocare you'd be in good company... and advocare is the only company i know that doesn't pay their endorsers... the tennessee titans and their strength coach steve watterson all endorse product, hendrick's motorsports, the olympic wrestling team (and they took home gold in '96 because of it) and the list goes on for hundreds of top athletes and performers... i'll bet some of those wrestlers could climb some rock...
