RRG fund raising slide show, coming to a town near you????

Post by Wes »

Hey, I am working on putting together a slide show to help raise money for the Murray property. I need some help though. I need places to have it, and help setting up times. I could Tuesday through Thursday nights, or maybe Friday nights (if the location was near some cool climbing for the weekend). Expenses are coming out of my pocket, so I can only travel maybe 3-4 hours from Lexington. And the show would be free, with donations suggested.

And, I am trying to line up some slides from some of the really good rrg photographers as well. So, hopefully, it won't be just the same photos of mine that you all have seen on here.

If you have a gym, or a place where I could set up and that has some space, let me know, and we can try to get a date set up.

Thanks much,
Wes

I got some space. We're busy now, but we can surely work something out.

You might check with Canoe Kentucky in Frankfort. They're not climbers obviously, but you might see if there is interest in a little co-operative work with climbers and canoers.

Also, this might be REALLY random, but you might check with KET to see what things they could do to put a spot on the channels. Dave Shuffet, who's a real great guy might know of some places to put up the show and get the message out.

State parks system might be a great place to start too. And what about turning the slide show into a pamphlet that can be placed at sporting goods stores like Phil Galls, J&H, Quest in Louisville, Dicks Sporting Goods, and others?

Man, I cannot even begin to tell you all how excited I am about this slide show! So far, there are five exceptional photographers, who are willing to allow their work to be shown for this event. It will be something that I will be very psyched to see.

Man, I took some KILLER, high-res, detailed pictures of a sewer line backup the other day. Can I show those? I think that would really bring in the donations.

Guys, this is going to be the best rrg climbing slide show ever. I am talking about some really, really good stuff. From people that I look up to and think "someday, I *might* be able to take photos like that".

Already getting a few dates together, but I would love to kick it off in Lexington the first week of January. But, I need help finding a space. Anyone out there know of someplace we could use for free, since we don't have a climbing gym here anymore, and I don't think we could all fit in Ray and Michelles gym.
