If my husband wasn't a climber, I wouldn't have married him. We'd never see each other if not. all our weekends are either on rock or ice and our vacations from work are to great places like Red Rocks, the Gunks or other climbing destinations. Thailand is in the cards for next fall.

I don't think you can make a non-climber a climber.... I don't know. I've taken girls out who are gf's of some of our climbing buddies, and they cringe at having to pee in the woods, so getting them to love climbing and all that comes with it is tough. I end up carrying everything and doing nothing but belaying whiners all day. Then they can only camp at places with showers... it is easier to leave them at home feeling abandonned!

I'd be divorced already if fred had a problem with me climbing. Even now at 7 months pregnant I'm still climbing. Full support of my husband and climbing friends...though my parents think I'm nutty...

Thanks for the anchors Goodguy! (and taking the hit)

I started climbing about the same time I got married, it would kill me to have to give up either one. I have tried to get her interested in climbing.........not going to happen. You have the passion or you don't.
