I can see freaking out over a scorpion but a s.p.ider is more likely than not going to leave you alone. The chance of one of those things being poisonous is pretty slim. I freak out over wasps but that's because I swell up like Strong Sad (http://www.homestarrunner.com/vcr_ss.html) when I get stung.
