CLIMBERS THAT CARE

Post by RRO »

What: Gathering to say THANKS for caring. Food, Bluegrass and good people will be provided
When: November 19th
Where: Rogers Elementary Gymnasium
Time: After “Forge The Gorge Trail Day”
Admission: Your choice
1.Bring a dish for a “pot luck” style meal + whatever canned food you can donate. (If your planning on bringing a dish please pm so I can keep a list. All dishes can be left at the shop during the trail day)
2.$5 + whatever canned food you can donate

Red River Outdoors is asking for your help during this holiday season. We are coordinating a food drive for the local families in need. We have always felt that no one should go hungry in this day and age and have always said if we were in a place to help we would, now is as good as any. Do what you can, it all adds up.

There will be a donation box at the shop and hopefully at other shops in the area until Nov 19th. If you would be interested in setting up a donation box at your work or gym please let me know.

More details soon.

Thanks

The Gorge, climbing friends, Bluegrass music, giving a little.

How great is that?
What I love about running is you can meditate while running. It's a peaceful place.

Thanks for organizing such a great event, Squeeze, Matt, and Amy-- I'll be there, too.

Matt and Amy,

Would you like the word put out to Wolfe Co. residents who would like to attend? Or do you prefer to keep this a climbers only event? Last time we invited local folks to the 04 Gathering evening event at the Rogers School, it turned out to be a great way for locals to meet the climbing community and see that we are a pretty good bunch (despite the way we sometime act on this forum!). If so, we can poster the event details around the county and on the Wolfe County on-line forum.

Also, we know that warm clothing is also a problem for some families down here in winter months. Would you like to also accept clothing donations if we can get them to the right organizations in Campton?

I'm in for a dish + donations + warm clothing if that works out.
