And here I thought Johnny onlu climbed on the gear he pounded out on the anvil in his backyard!
Just genuinely disengenuous.

After I realized hexes are no better than a slung water bottle, I stopped buying gear.

I'm not sure the media interest is there until you actually win the GPA. Can you come up with some other 'interesting' angles that I migth be able to sell you story with?
I see they are still lopping off mountains in Eastern Kentucky. Electricity isn't cheap.

Steve all I am hearing from you is I am not willing to do what it takes to get my one year option.

Stevo, you know better. It's the media that creates the news! Think about Hans Florine. He's an okay climber, but until the media told us speed made a difference, he was a nobody. He didn't get the FA or the FFA of the Nose, he just climbed it with a stopwatch and no gear. Now that wouldn't have been news until the mags (with a Western bias, to be sure) needed to use their 37th cover shot of Yosemite and couldn't think of any reason we could care about it. BAM! They created news. Now they're riding on CONTROVERSY between warring factions. (note to self: we need a foil to create controversy with Team Safety).

SCIN, you really need to stay home more and take care of Artsay's needs. Too much skankin' isn't good for a relationship.

So what about the banner and flashing lights?

Unless your Joe Kinder or Dave Graham I wouldn't plan on winning the golden piton in the East... Good luck with that however, Johnny. Sure would be great.
