I want a job where I can create wormholes and then use them for improving our criminal justice system.
Would that be a combination Astro physics/Nuclear engineering degree?

I very much appreciate your offer, but I am almost certain that the things that bother me about teaching will be present in every secondary teaching position, regardless of field.

Basically, what I would like to do is:
1) Get the Education I need for the field
2) Work in the field of protype design (parts, machines, anything really), or
4) Design processes for manufaturing efficiency.
3) Eventually start my own prototype production business. I'm particularly interested in 3D printing, and CAD and CAM stuff.
And, being a technician or analyst suit me as well.
But, I'm trying to learn all I can about the field before I decide.

kato is right. I work for an engineering firm and there's nothing glamorous about our CAD department. They do pretty mundane work for the most part and none of them sing and dance over their jobs. Before you go and quit what you currently have set up, you should maybe talk to some people who have the job that you'd like and see what they have to say about it.
When I was first getting into the mapping field, I had it in my head that I wanted to be an aerial photographer. One day up in the plane doing the work and I learned otherwise. Where I am now I have a pretty good set up but I'm still always thinking about how much greener the grass is on another side. I just don't think anyone is completely happy getting up and going to work everyday.
