Gate City and then Weber City is right before the TN state line. There should be an on-ramp for 181 to Johnson City just a little past the TN line.
I'm an experienced woman; I've been around... well, alright, I might not've been around, but I've been... nearby.

Hi everyone,
Well i just got back from Boone. My first time driving there by myself and it went just fine thanks to all the directions. In Linville you turn onto 181 (the NC version) (there's a video store on right and CVS on left) and at the next stop light is 105 which is also 421 and goes right to Grandfather campground.

See you at Hounds Ears next weekend!!! 8)

Thinking of going down to boulder at Grandmother this weekend... never been. Do I need someone to show me around? Anybody want to tell me how to get there? Is there a guide? I'll likely be down Saturday - Tuesday.

JB, Looks like Rocktown for me this weekend, depending on the weather.

Weather in Boone looks pretty rainy until Friday night, so the boulders might be wet for a day or two or even three. Best beta is at ncbouldering.com No guidebook, but once you find the boulders people will show you around / help you out.
