It's obvious they are targeting climbers, they go to the easy access parking areas where they wont' look suspicious to passer's by. They grab only quick easy, untraceable stuff, worth a few bucks at the local pawn. Has anyone tried the local area Pawnshops/Flea Markets. Think about it, we are there mostly weekends,
Flea Markets are only on weekends, There is one back up the Parkway a couple exits before Slade going north. I would get an Idea of the most hit parking lot, pack a car full of cd's, back packs etc. etc. and have a few people off in the woods with a video camera. When or if they show, get them actually in the car and then three or four of you approach them while on video, you will have proof of the proof. I was down there a few weeks back and saw the memo about the break in's, this is bullshit and you dont have to accept it. Sure you can do as stated above, all good advice, but I agree with Spuzo, enough is enough. The only question is motovation, is this cause enough to possibly give up some climbing time to pull off this ambush, or not. I would be willing to put at your disposal any and all my Military survaillence and counterservaillence knowledge as well as camouflaging techniques. I offer this and my gear to you for nothing, but I will not do it alone! You know where you can reach me, and I will be at the Gathering
That's my 2cents

There's 20 of them doing it Gunslinger. Well they're doing it when they aren't in jail for something else.

Yeah I figured it must be a Pack mentality, they do have natural camo and the home field advantage, however thats all they have, numbers mean nothing if there's no real leadership. Thieves/cowards have no loyalty, common sense, and above all they're greedy. Greed is they're motivation, They're arent making a killin on the stuff they take, it's enough to get high, but not to get by! If it's numbers or violence your worried about, that can be countered many ways. I propose this, at the Gathering, seek me out, I won't be hard to spot. If any of you are serious we can shoot the proverbial shit and see were it goes, if it goes nowhere, nothing lost.
I have seen similar activities in Foreign countries around the world and nothing ever stopped until the people being affected did something. This is'nt the first year this stuff has happened, it keeps happening because everyone wants someone else to do something about it. I don't want to sound like a dick, but what affects one of us, should affect us all. I see one constant on these post's, everyone acts like they don't like each other, and some probably don't, but the core group(you know who) sticks together tighter than the thieves could ever hope to. Again, I have alot to offer on a lot of levels, keep an open mind and we will drink a beer over it after we build up Muir Valley.

sounds good, wish I could be there to help - soon though, soon I hope.

i'm sorry to report that i too was the victim of a break-in a the lode...i did almost everything that everyone had suggested...i took all me and my friend's important and expensive stuff out of my car and left it all inside my cargo box at miguel's. i left my windows open and kept my doors unlocked. unfortunately, i still left my cd player faceplate in the car, inside my locked glovebox. i parked on the right side, so my car was sitting all by itself. i found my cd deck gone and they pryed open my glovebox and took the faceplate too. it sucked ass.
