GREATER ACCESS TO HELP EVERYONE REJOICE IN NATURE'S GOODNESS

What: Trail Day and Climbing
When: September 24-25, 2005
Where: Muir Valley Nature Preserve, Eastern KY

Celebrate the splendor and beauty of Muir Valley Nature Preserve by participating in this year's trail day. Friends of Muir Valley team up with the Access Fund to bring you GATHERING 2005, a fun and friendly two-day festival that includes trail building, partying, and lots of climbing!

The Adopt-a-Crag event will kick off with a 9am assembly at the main parking lot on Saturday, September 24. Volunteer groups and individual participants will be assigned to various projects which includes trail construction, erosion control, landscape restoration, litter removal, and wildlife documentation. But it's not all hard work, folks! Snacks and refreshments will be provided throughout the day and participants will be rewarded with free dinner as well, courtesy of the Webers (remember the feast we had last year?). There will also be some jamming live music, lots of door prizes (courtesy of our very generous sponsors), and a handful of climbing-related activities.

Please don't forget to bring gloves, rakes, hoes, mattocks, shovels, weed cutting gadgets, and other implements of beautification with you, if you have them already! Remember to also bring along those nice and comfy lawn chairs to lounge on during the evening shindig.

Don't miss out on your chance to support our local climbing community and especially to show our appreciation of Rick and Liz's generous contribution to rock climbing in the Red River Gorge. We hope to see you there!

I'll be there. For all that I get out of Muir Valley, this is the least I can do.

I would really like to help out. I've got a bunch of garden tools and a willing (though feeble) back.
My only problem is that my twins do their seven year old type activitys both days. And my wife needs our car to deal with 'em.
Anybody from Lexington willing to give me a ride? I'll help out with gas.

I am heading down Friday and coming back Sunday night. I can hold 2-3 people from Lexington.

Hello,
Planning on attending, would like to know what types of tools/supplies I can donate. I have access to alot of small hand tools(machetes, shovels, chainsaw)
a wheel barrel, a two wheel dolly, and a few other assorted tools. I would also need some type of directions, I know where all the regular places are(Miguels,Torrent Falls, True North)etc. etc.... I would greatly appreciate any help and will kindly return the favor!!!!
Thanks!
