Well, I spent $30 on gas this weekend to go to Chicago. Much cheaper than the $140ish it would have cost to go to the Gorge. Had some good times, got to see my parents. The rock can wait.

I stuffed 6 people into my 4runner to drive Evansville to SoIll. It was a perfect day. Lots of good people. Rock was outstanding. The humidity was not so bad. Now if I can get everyone to kick in on gas like thay said they would.... 8)

This might have been the cheapest vacation Jared and I ever took. Priceline took care of all of it. Got the rental car for $16/day - and it already has a full tank of gas! Jared worked his charm and got us a free upgrade. Also got to stay a couple of nights at a hotel for LESS than half the price they charge up front, again thanks to priceline. We also somehow got away with camping a couple of nights for free. Managed to spend less than $100 on food/meals, and that includes a big vacation dinner, beers, margaritas and all.

Our biggest splurge of the weekend was a $3 bag of prickly pear jelly candy.

I agree with Wes, I can be broke all month and this trip was still worth it. But the good thing is, we were clever enough not to spend too much and still not feel like we were vacationing on a budget! :D

I'd have paid $4/gallon for the weekend I had.

My theory on alot of stuff in life (including inflated gas prices) is this:

You only live once, you can't see and do things when your dead, so you might as well do those things now while your living no matter what the price is, if you can get away with it!!!

Unfortunately, everyone in this life as we know it has a limited amount of time (thats a fact), enjoy while you can!!!!
