Friends - mainly old school trad climbrs that enjoy sloging up mountains in their spare time Books - so I could call BS if someone told me something that didn't make any sense to me Class at gym - when I first started to lead, the instructor who taught me was willing to answer my questions on safety...

My two cents... The Red's limestone also contributes to a good mental state during an OS. All of my hardest OS's have been away from my "home crag" on Ontario limestone. Many of the routes here are polished, have cryptic sequences, holds are normally crimps instead of jugs, and the rock is...

I have an Inifinty, which I thought would be my redpoint rope only, but as I used it more and liked its hand and characteristics, it's my everyday rope now. I'm a big guy (210 lbs), climb 2-3 times a week and my rope's lasted a little over a year. It's been cut a few times, but I use it for hangdogg...

Crankmas, I have a 9.5 Mammut Infinity 60m and I use it for my general cragging rope, plus pretty regular gym rope. I like it a lot, the hand is nice and knots are easy tie and un-tie. It's taken a lot of abuse over the past 1.5 years and only recently did I have to cut it down. I'm a big guy (200 l...

I looked into buying a rack for my Outback and the only advice I have for you is to make sure that you can open the hatch with the box on the roof. Essentially, you'll need a cargo box with the attachments close to the "back" of the box. Otherwise, you'll be annoyed everytime you need to o...

And I met Elise (the girl in the pink headband) last year at HP40

Wes, where'd you run into these guys? Last time I heard, Jess was at HP40

Pre Sept 1, I ordered the book and it arrived at the post office last Monday (Sept. 9th). They didn't leave it at my place, since there are duties to be paid.

I lurk and post very rarely. Ask me about climbing shoes, though and I can give you a doctoral thesis.

Maybe if I actually met someone from this site, I'd post more... Whatever I do here, this site rocks and I can keep up to speed on happenings in the Red.

I've got 1 pair of the Venoms - re-soled once, 3(!) pairs of Katanas in different sizes - all re-soled at least once), and the Mythos. I kinda like La Sportiva shoes, if you couldn't tell... The Katanas are my all-around shoes, good for everything, and I use the Mythos for trad, and the Venoms for b...

I have a pair of Mythos that I wear on multi-pitch routes, but I too don't trust them on small foothold/technical feet/steep routes. I sized them down by 1.5 sizes, but they still don't feel as good as my other shoes. Not sensitive enough, I guess. If you like how the Mythos fit your feet, try eithe...
