Of course everyone is different, but I would not personally ever ask to jump on another party's toprope. Nor would I be very comfortable with a stranger asking to use my rope. Yes, climbing has an impact, I would never argue that it doesn't. I'm just not sure it can fairly be described as excessively negative, especially in the Red.
