The pit or vault toilet is a good idea but the Wolfe Co. health department says no. We looked into this in the past. The USFS can use them as can the state but they are not allowed on private land according to them.

Graining Fork Nature Preserve, aka, Roadside is open. If you go to http://www.grainingfork.org website you can obtain a permit to access the preserve. Please help ensure the rules are adhered to and keep an eye on the place.

The Graining Fork website is "under construction" as they say and obviously incomplete. I will ask the person helping us with the site to block it until it is completed.

I was disappointed that someone would vandalize "Roadside". I think the act has far more ramifications than simply destroying a sign and misrepresenting private property. I don't know if it was a climber or non-climber but it is my intention to try to find them and prosecute them. I think ...
