The year before last we made it from Cincinnati in about 22 or 23 hours, with an hour or so stop for dinner in Lincoln or Omaha. We left around 6 AM and pulled into Vedauwoo around 2 or 3 in the morning local time. Definately worth the drive if you can stay for a while.

Appropriation bills are how Congress sepnds money. Funding for all government agencies, including the Forest Service is spelled out in a number of Appropriation Bills. I guess it makes sense that the Forest Service would seek the support of legislators from nearby states to get funding for their are...

Hey Pete,

When we there in July the rock routes seemed to be in fine form. It would be a little late in the seaon for snow climbs, but rock/alpine stuff would be fine.

Coming back from Table Rock this weekend (back to Cincy) we took back roads to Johnson City, TN and then I-181 and US 23 to Mountain Parkway. You leave US 23 at Prestonburg and take 114 over to the Mtn Pkwy. It seemed to cut 1/2 hr to an hour off the drive time to Cincy, but I'm not sure I'd take it...
