I think we have enough votes to call this a victory.

Climbing a route via Trad protection is much harder than using bolted pro. This is not an excuse, it is just simple fact.

Make a fire escape. Take an old harness, an old belay device & biner and leave them in your bedroom closet. If your stuck on the 2nd or 3rd floor of your house and a fire breaks out, simply run the rope around the hinge in the closet (be sure to reinforce the hinge now with some 3.5" screws...
