For Sale: Climbing Holds

I am in the process of selling a bunch of climbing holds. I posted them on mountain project last week and thought it might be worth sharing here as well. See https://www.mountainproject.com/forum/topic/120891234/fs-climbing-holds I also have a massive amount of climbing wall panels for sale. If you’...

Re: Sporty sport lines allowed?

personally when I bolt the line my primary question to myself is: how will a climber who is totally confident/competent and comfortable at this grade feel about the line. ..... if the grade is within your comfort range, expect to be pleased with the balance of the entire experience. Well put! Thank...

Any more info on the accident? Anything that we can learn from? Saw the ambulances on our drive out. Happy to hear that the climber is recovering!

Re: Sporty sport lines allowed?

I don't think the fall from up there would be that bad. Just kind of bad? I certainly would not want to take that fall. How would you as a developer feel, if someone fell and was injured due to a bad bolt placement with respect to a ledge or an unnecessary runout? I am trying to get back to pigstea...

Re: Sporty sport lines allowed?

Sporty does not mean dangerous in my book. Run outs to the chains on overhung terrain is one way to make a route safe and sporty. Run outs up high can be exhilarating. Run outs down low just mean we are going to have to end our climbing day early bc a newbie couldn't calculate the risk. I understan...

Well put. Ian - how many hours a day to you spend on this website?

Re: Bad Ass or Dumb Ass?

I don't think he even "soloed" Chainsaw... just climbed up for the pose sesh before any of the "harder" moves then downclimbed. In any case it's not really very impressive or admirable, although the spraying down about it has quite the opposite effect. Climbed at the undertow wa...

Re: PDs at Lode

On a side note the routes on the GMC wall will be stripped of their fixed gear as well. For me removing the perma-draws had nothing to do with excluding any user group based on the difficulty of routes they are climbing or as any broad solution to the many problems facing the local climbing communi...

Re: Deliberate Practice

If I look over the last 19 years of my climbing, there is a common theme: I train really hard, get strong, and then typically get injured. Lots of random injuries. hamstring, back, hip, finger, etc. So my main focus is to build a huge base, vary my workouts between bouldering, lots of endurance rou...

Re: Deliberate Practice

Sticking to a schedule, doing things that aren't 'fun' qualifies as training to me. I haven't checked out odub's site, but I will. However, I'm seeing massive gains right now, so I'm not likely to deviate until I start plateauing. I know which days I'm going to climb, what I'm going to do on the no...
