Re: Stolen quick draws on Prometheus Unbound

13. No rock climbing routes of any kind may be put up in Muir Valley without the written permission of the Muir Valley organization. Nor, may hardware of any kind be permanently affixed to any rock in Muir Valley without the written permission of this organization. Just as an FYI, this includes &quo...

New Rope for Sale $125 *SOLD*

As the title indicates the rope is brand new in the packaging still. It's 60m 9.4mm Black Diamond in green. I would love to keep it but I have too many ropes already. Retail is $239.95, asking $125. Local pickup in the Red preferred, can also potentially deliver to Cincy.

Re: New Bolting Hardware?

All of the ones that have fallen out to my knowledge have been from rope flutter while the climber is being lowered. We need more folks willing to spend 10 minutes to re torque bolts on the routes they're on, and more developers willing to take on the extra effort of using glue-ins.

Re: Bolting Hardware Question (again)

Trying this question post again....any serious feedback to my questions below is greatly appreciated. Been bolting some routes and was curious about thoughts on hardware at top anchors. I'm using 5" SS Powers expansion bolts. Using 3/8" zinc plated quick links at the chains. I know I can ...

Re: How can I get from Cincinati airport to the Red?

You may have an easier time finding a ride coming in on a Friday than a Tuesday. Lot of folks from Cincinnati will be coming down on the 5th for Rocktoberfest at Land of the Arches. If you've never been to the Red before there aren't any crags within walking distance of the campgrounds, so expect to...

Re: Good routes for practice falls

One is practicing for an inevitable normal part of sport climbing, the other involves getting several yards of extra slack from your belayer to make the fall unnecessarily long, no doubt a fun practice outside of Muir ;) Unfortunately we have to deal with morons like these guys https://rockandice.co...

Re: Good routes for practice falls

I Air Ride Equipped, Getting Lucky in Kentucky, Plate Tectonics, Dyno-mite and Black Powder at Great Arch In regards to Getting Lucky in Ky and Plate Techtonics, I wouldn't mind falling on this route if it happened, becasue it is overhung a bit, but I wouldn't go there to practice falling. Those rou...
