Re: Parking & Road Questions
1. What's the story with parking at the top of Motherlode Hill? It looks like a parking lot has sprung up... Is it ok to park there? That land is owned by Gary King. He also owns Bald Rock Cabins ( http://www.baldrockcabins.com ) which are located on the left just before the parking lot. As a court...

Route 2 Right of Century @ Velo Crag
Can anyone identify this route? It is the second line past The Century at Velo Crag. I think the order is The Century > Double Century > This route. There is a distinct ledge above the second bolt and a flake between 3 & 4. The finish is in a small water groove.

Re: Is this going to be in the online guidebook anytime soon
The video claims the routes are "professionally bolted". Who certifies these professionals and what are their credentials? Seriously though, I wonder if that claim might open them or a bolter up to liability if something goes wrong.

Re: Motherlode Hill
Hey, do what works for you, but that has not been my experience. In my buddy's Tacoma 4 low results in skidding gravel. You can "crawl" out in Hi 4 in first gear with no problem. It is a manual, maybe that makes a difference? Here is a third party source: http://www.rubicon-trail.com/4WD10...

Re: Motherlode Hill
Instead of "4 Low" try using "4 High". Low doubles or triples the torque which will actually cause slippage and skidding of your tires. 4 Low is usually for towing and will act more like a 2WD when driving on gravel. Use 4 High and some modest momentum. The principles are the sam...
