Re: I hope this is not thr curx
I see a lot going on here, but what I cant tell from the pic is if this guy is left handed. when I use a grigri, I'm always feeding out with my left hand, and braking with my right. opposite of this picture. The rope also goes out to the climber from the grigri by the hole aligned closest to the bin...

Re: taking it outside...
Have fun climbing inside. The music is terrible, everything smells of pizza, and at any instant your chalk bag can become the community property of 5-10 grade schoolers. If youre at Rockquest beware of the archetypal, poorly parented bedwetter who thinks throwing rocks okay with everyone. You handle...

Re: Financial Support for Climbing from Climbers: The Proble
In all seriousness the overuse problem would diminish drastically if all bolts on climbs under 5.12 were stripped and people had to provide their own protection once again. This form (traditional, natural protection) was used successfully for a long time until the Bolt-a-thon and the rise of gym cl...

Re: Tunnel Ridge / Nada Tunnel Road Closure
Bill could probably give you an answer on that, but I'm thinking they'd get to it in a day or so...after the fires are spreading and visible from service roads. Anymore I think auxiers and double arch need to have guided hikes by the FS. Not closed but closely monitored. What bad could come of them ...

Re: Tunnel Ridge / Nada Tunnel Road Closure
My wife and I went climbing Saturday morning and decideded to to go see Auxiers Ridge in the evening before heading home. I HAVE NEVER SEEN A MORE DISGUSTING AFTERMATH IN MY LIFE. We witnesses two tents still standing on the ridge with fires still burning. Two tents right to the left of the stairs h...

http://www.mountaineersbooks.org/productdetails.cfm?PC=1078 I found this book helpful when I was first starting out. Basically, I learned the basic concept of cleaning from this book. It's pretty good, and you can get a used copy online for around $8. thans man. looks interesting, I'll check it out.

Re: taking it outside...
Thanks. I'm not trolling here. Pretty serious about it. My first outdoor lead was last year, To Defy Laws Of Tradition at Military wall. It was fine, I hurt my finger which is another story in-of-itself. The route just flowed...could have been the cocaine highway running right down the bolts, but wh...

taking it outside...
I have an honest question for everyone. I'll give you some back ground as well. I'm a climber who was introduced to climbing in the gym, and so was my wife, but we've been wanting to climb more outside. We arent exceptionally strong climbers but both pretty capable. The first time we went climbing t...
